Slytherin was founded by Salazar Slytherin and values ambition, cunning, leadership, and resourcefulness. Students sorted into Slytherin are known for their determination to achieve their goals and their ability to think strategically.

Slytherin Common Room

The Slytherin common room is a long, low underground room located beneath the lake in the dungeons of Hogwarts Castle. The room has greenish lamps and chairs, and the light gives the room a greenish tinge. The common room has lots of low-backed black and dark green leather sofas, skulls, and dark wood cupboards. It is decorated with tapestries featuring the adventures of famous medieval Slytherins. The room has a grand atmosphere but also a quite cold one, with a perpetual chill in the air.
